Damn stupid ears

Remember those fancy new glasses I told you about? Well, I have only worn them one time. Why would I pay two hundred dollars for a pair of glasses and only wear them one time? Because they sit crooked on my face.

I was baffled by this phenomenon. I have been wearing glasses for 8 years, and I have never experienced this before. Did my ears suddenly shift positions? I talked to John about the problem, and he told me to take them back to place where I purchased them. But then I would have to admit that my ears are crooked. I decided that I would rather wear my old glasses instead.

Then last week I left my old pair of glasses on the table, while I went to blow dry my hair. I came back to get my glasses, but they were gone. I searched high and low, but the glasses were nowhere to be found. Finally, I asked Porgie where my glasses were. She took off running for the kitchen. She retrieved the glasses from underneath Izzy's exersaucer. Hmmmm? Porgie handed me the glasses, and it was apparent why she had hid them. They were bent badly. I tried and tried to bend them back into place, but they felt lopsided on my head. Great!

I got out my new glasses, thinking that they would be less lopsided than the badly bent glasses. I put them on, but they felt even MORE lopsided than the glasses that Porgie bent to hell and back. So, now I have two pairs of glasses that sit lopsided on my stupid face. DAMN IT!

I guess I am going to have do the walk of shame at the eye doctor's office, and admit that my ears are uneven.

I too am on my third pair of glasses since my son was born. Because apparently? It is FASCINATING to pull on those long skinny pieces.

If you originally got them at Lenscrafters, they'll fix them for free for the life of your glasses.

I sat my glasses down on my chair while i got up to do something, stupid i know, because i came back in, forgot they were there and sat right on them!!
That was a few years ago now, i'll never do that again:-D

Well if it makes you feel any better, my nose is crooked so my sunglasses always sit up a little higher on one side!! Hee hee...

I've worn glasses my entire life :-) You can just walk into a Lenscrafters or whatever and ask for an adjustment. No need to admit crookedness at all!

That totally sucks!! I have the same problem, though. My ears are so crooked and my glasses are always crooked. It blows!
Thanks for the advice on leaving her in her crib. I've tried it so many times and she just screams bloody murder and then I feel so freaking bad!! This parenting thing sucks sometimes. :(

You can get them to adjust them at the store. I have the same problem. The people at the store were very nice. Even though it's obvious the problem is my head or my ear placement, they kept saying it was just "the style of the glasses." Worth a shot! Or you can try yourself! I have to readjust mine all the time. And I almost took my recent pair back to the store myself for adjustment issues (that I was able to fix). And you can take them anywhere, not just where you bought them. Not like they look for a receipt to adjust them.

My nose is crooked so my glasses tend to not be level sometimes. I always have to adjust them, it is a pain. I think a lot of people have uneven ears.

Hey Christy...I don't think you are alone. I don't think there are a lot of perfectly even ears out there.

I remember when I was little and I wore glasses, my sister's friend sat on mine accidently. She broke the side arms right off. I had to hold the glasses on up to my face to watch tv....my sister laughed so hard at me I think she might have wet herself.

Since then, I've had laser surgery.

My whole face is crooked. I hate it. When I buy any glasses I can see my eyebrows aren't the same. I have to bend I think it's my right? side in order to get them to lay presentable.

Swear.

consider taking them to the optomitrist and seeing if they can straighten them. they have a microwave type thing that allows them to manipulate the frames. at least the one at my costco does. sorry bout your specs!

awe! My dad makes eyeglasses and lots of people have crooked ears. It is a pretty simple adjustment. Don't waste the $$- get them fixed! If we were closer I would haver my dad do it...but then I would have to tell him your a crooked ear freak. Just kidding!:)

I just bought my first pair of REALLY expensive sun glasses and I'm AFRAID to wear them. Buyers remorse?

I have the exact same problem. I've never had a problem with it until the pair I'm currently wearing. I sat in the chair and let them adjust me until they sat straight on my face... it took a while! Good luck! :)
