An Easter Egg Hunt

Last Saturday we took the kids to the local nature center (which we usually refer to as "the farm") for their annual Easter egg hunt. The morning started out great. Both kids were happy as clams...
But then it happened. The Easter Bunny showed up...Which resulted in lots of this...
And this...
In case you were wondering, the Easter Bunny is terrifying. After reassuring the kids that the Easter Bunny wouldn't hurt them, we headed outside and started searching for eggs...

All of those plastic eggs were filled with yummy chocolate. Porgie and Izzy were in toddler heaven. It was a fabulous day. You can't go wrong with candy!

The whole idea of the easter bunny is kinda freaky. Seriously I just tell my kids its a real bunny and we avoid the scary costumes, lol.

The Easter Bunny is a funny phenomenon. All kids seem to be scared of it, yet it's always part of the Easter Egg Hunts. Lots of yummy goodness in our eggs too! Happy Easter.

I'm so glad we don't do the Easter bunny lol. Noone here dresses up as him or anything (maybe if we went someplace like that, but we don't). I have no idea how Kalila would react, but nice not to deal with.

You reminded me of something I'm NOT looking forward to though. My inlaws do the plastic eggs (so sad... I want to do real ones & hubby won't let me and we only do the one hunt) and stuff them full of candy. Half of it isn't age appropriate for Kalila, not an issue for anyone else since she's the youngest at the moment... and half of what's not inappropriate is candy I'd rather her not have. :-(

Yeah, my kid isn't into those characters, either! They should stop bringing them out to kids' events!

Sitting on Santa's knee? Sure. But 6' bunny like creature? Not so much. I'm with the kids. Scary.
