We are falling apart

I received a call from my doctor today. He had the results from my blood work. My liver enzymes are elevated again. I am becoming more and more convinced that my gallbladder is broken. Hopefully, he'll have the ultrasound results by Monday.

Porgie is going to see a cardiologist next month to check her heart murmur. Before we go, Porgie needs to have chest x-rays performed. I am fairly confident that Porgie is going to flip out. Needless to say, we are not looking forward to this experience.

Izzy needs to have another stool sample taken. However, Izzy's poop is so runny that it absorbs into his diaper before I can scoop it out. Any suggestions or advice? The doctor recommended lining his diaper with saran wrap, but that sounds a little messy.

On a positive note, John is feeling fine. But who cares about John?

** John just told me that he is going to be out of town all next week.

Awe! Hang in there. That saran trick is pretty interesting for getting the poop sample. I never would have thought of that. I will be thinking of you and your family.

This is no good. I am very sorry you have to deal with all this. I would be stressed the fuck out. My best wishes.

You could put a feminine sanitary pad or liner thingy in the diaper. It would stay put and would be much easier to um, collect from. :)

I don't care that John's feeling well personally.

No really though, that totally sucks.

I'm sending you major good vibes.

Another idea for the 'sample' might be those plastic diaper linings. Kind of gross but you can get what you need and then rinse it right? Sorry, I'm not so great at this.

Your last comment about John made me laugh! But I'm sorry to hear about all the testing that has to happen with you guys, I hope it all gets worked out.

You poor thing, the saying. 'it never rains,it poars ' comes to mind.
I do hope you are all feeling better soon.
As for getting a poo sample ,good luck with that. Can't think of any other suggestion other than letting him lie and kick his legs with no nappy on (on a changing mat of course!). That is if he's not too mobile!!. That would be messy!

My husband has to work away sometimes too, being on your own with 4 kids is not fun at all.

Good luck to you and Porgie with your upcoming tests and results.

Oh lordie, when it rains it pours, eh? My liver enzymes were up last time I went as well, I had the ultra-sound and it turned out I had a fat liver. Like I don't have enough fat to worry about, LOL! My whole diet was changed. Blech. I hope you all feel better soon!!

OHH!!! It sounds like you are going to have a hell of a week:(

Does Porgie have to go into that aweful looking plastic imobilizer?? Ellie had to be slipped into one of those when she had chest x-rays when she was about 6 months.

I hope things get a little easier for you soon:)

Oh geeze... saran wrap does sound tricky... I like the panty liner idea?

Ew.

Also- Stupid Husband... mine leaves all the time too... bastardo!

I'm not gonna go near the husband subject... If I hadn't just written a post I'd have a whole new one on that!

I like the pantyliner idea too... I guess the saran wrap would work, but it's hard enough to get it where it's supposed to go lol.. besides that prob wouldn't be all that comfortable on his poor theez. Another idea, if you have a washcloth you don't mind getting really dirty.. you could use that as well.

OMG- Christy I am so sorry. I know when John goes away it is so hard on you.

As for Porgie-I had a heart mumur for many years and checked it each year. It went away after pregnancy. I was fine but I am not a doctor just a friend.

As for Izzy-well I have no suggestions. I can only say squeeze the diaper into that damn test tube.

HUGS for you the momma.

Oh Christy! You have your plate so full and I am so sorry you have to do it mostly on your own.

Greg is works nights right now and I bitch about him not being here a couple nights a week. I need to shut my mouth, cause at least he's home at some point during a weeks time.

My mom had her gallbladder out and she feels SO much better. I think it is a very minimal outpaitient surgery will very little recovery time and with you being so young you should do really well, if that is the route they go.

I've got no advice about the poop... the saran wrap sounds like it would work, but might be a bit messy.

Poor Porgie... I also had a friend who's little one had a heart murmur and after some time it cleared up on its own. I hope Porgie's does the same!

Take care :)

Ok this might sound weird but the nurses suggested it to me when I had to get a urine sample from Mya and she wouldn't do it on the potty because it was pre potty training. They had plastic ziploc bag that had adhesive around the top so we stuck it to her skin, all around her vagina. The pee kind of made it fall off but we got enough for them to test it. You might be able to do the same by taping an open sandwich bag or any ziploc back around Izzy's bum and it would catch it for you then wait for the poop to happen. You could use that soft medical tape. I hope that makes some sense. I am really sorry about all of it. I can feel for you, it always felt like those kind of things happened all at once and it was at a time that was so busy for my husband.
