Milestones

As a parent, I have always been very proud of my little girl as she achieved new milestones. Over the past year and a half, I have excitedly watched as Porgie learned to smile, roll over, sit up, crawl, and walk. Yesterday she accomplished a new milestone, which was not nearly as neat.

We were in the grocery store shopping, when Porgie suck her finger up her nose and pulled out a BIG booger. Because she is a classy lady, she instantly tried to eat the booger. I think she was pretty amazed that she found something up in there, because she spent the rest of the day with her finger up her nose.

__________

Izzy has started to give us little smiles every now and again. It is very sweet to see that big gummy smile as he stares intensely at the living room blinds. John can also get a few smiles by touching izzy's nose and chin, while rambling nonsense at him. I, however, have not received one damn smile. Apparently, I am not very funny.

__________

Yesterday I actually cooked dinner! Can you believe that I cooked dinner? I think John is still in shock too. I felt like one of those housewives. It was very bizarre.

Whohoo for dinner!! My dinners mainly consist of hamburger helper or pancakes :-) I have gotten pretty lucky and thus far none of my kids have ever tried to eat their boogers and I think I might vomit a little if they ever tried! So she didn't actually eat it did she? ;-)

Aww. My kid's newest milestone is throwing a temper tantrum in a store.

She's also started investigating her nose but hasn't gotten anything yet!

Maybe Izzy just doesn't get your sense of humor yet. :)

Congrats on the dinner!

K had his finger up his nose last night and this morning. I suppose it didn't help that I told him he'd tickle his brain if he kept doing that.
oh well, more embarressing pics to show the first girlfriend, I say! :-)

Just found your blog, congrats on the new one! My 2nd is almost 5 months...it gets BETTER! It DOES! He'll start smiling at you soon enough. Eventually, you'll be the only one he smiles at. It's easy to forget all the good that comes eventually!
Nice work on the dinner thing. That's definitely an accomplishment!

Christy-a reminder!! It sounds like you are doing it despite all your dounts about yourself. I have always seen a super mom in you and I am glad you are seeing it yourself.

Way to go Miss Porgie!

I can remember the first time E put her finger up her nose. She thought it was very funny and for about a month she would walk around with finger up there and laugh!

Thank god she has now moved on to helping push the cart when we grocery shop!
