We were driving down the road, and my daughter started her usual chatter. Except she has introduced a new element lately, which entails her saying my name A LOT, but never actually asking me anything. OH MY GOD, it is so frustrating. And annoying.
Porgie - "Mommy? Mommy? Mommy?"
Me - "What?"
Porgie - "Ummm...Ummm...Mommy?"
Me- "What?"
Porgie - "Ummm..."
We drive in silence for 30 seconds.
Porgie - "Mommy?"
Me - "WHAT?"
Porgie - "Ummm...Mommy?"
Me - "STOP CALLING ME MOMMY! IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION, JUST ASK ME! DO NOT SAY MOMMY!"
We drive in silence for 20 seconds.
Porgie - "Mommy?"
AHHHHHHH! Kids drive me insane!

My oldest used to do that. It was like she was taking roll--every thirty seconds or so, for no fathomable reason. Of course, when they're older, they still call Mom every other minute or so, but then there's a reason behind it: "Mom, can I have $20 for club dues? Mom, can you drive me to the mall? Mom, will you make me a sandwich? Mom, can you sign these permission slips?" I guess that's what it means to always be 'on call'!
that made me giggle.
omfg the other thing they do is say mommy can i ask you something
