Update on the choppers

So, I had another appointment with the orthodontist today. My spacers were taken out, and molar bands were forced onto my teeth. Holy cow! It was a rough experience. The dentist manhandled my teeth. And my jaw hurts tonight. But it is DONE. And for that, I am thankful.

Oddly enough, they didn't actually tie the molars in with my other teeth today. The doctor wants to see me back in three weeks, so I guess they will put in a new wire that goes across the brackets and bands at that appointment. I probably should have asked, but by that point I just wanted to get the hell out of there.

The good news is that my teeth are finally starting to feel normal again. For the past week, my teeth really hurt. But now I just have a few teeth that feel kind of numb. It is a strange sensation, but much preferred to pain.

So, things are progressing. I have been a whiny asshole throughout this entire process. Everything just hurts way more than I thought it would. I am a wussy.

You're not being whiny. I STILL remember how much it hurt and I think I was 11 when I got them!

Take as much Motrin as you can and hope the pain passes quickly.

Oh, I remember the pain too.
Soup & yogurt will be your friends.

Random orthodontic issue I had: I couldn't eat anything with lemons in it when I had braces. It made my mouth taste like metal.
Ewwww!

Mouth pain is awful. You can not forget about it and drugs rarely help. I hope you are feeling better and I hope your little ones are no longer puking and coughing!

See, normal in no time! I have no idea about these technical terms you are using, but I hope the spacers being out means they won't be a problem anymore.

I hate teeth pains and problems. I understand it completely. I hope you feel better and it is all over soon.
