Too much information

I am a relatively healthy person. I don't get sick very often. I rarely ever experience heartburn or constipation. I have no allergies, seasonal or otherwise. In general, I am very healthy. So I was completely flabbergasted today when it hurt to pee. I mean IT REALLY HURTS. It is a strange sensation. When I sit down to pee it doesn't hurt or burn, but when my bladder completely empties I feel a sharp shooting pain. Ouch! Oh, and I feel the urge to pee every 30 minutes. Fuckity, fuck, fuck!

After much googling, I have diagnosed myself with a urinary tract infection. I guess there is nothing I can do about it this weekend, but I will be making an appointment to see my doctor on Monday. I guess I'm going to get some use out of my health insurance after all.

Oh no! But there is something you can do. At this point I wouldn't skip the dr's visit, but until then go to the store and get a) Cranberry juice (preferably the non sweet variety.. I know it doesn't taste as good, but works better. Either way 100% juice) and b) Cranberry tablets. They will help a ton. I managed to avoid one of these last week on them alone. So glad we caught that it was coming early enough to do that lol. But added to meds they'll get rid of a bad one faster too.

Go to your pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for the little brown pill that eases the pain/burning of a UTI. It's over-the-counter, but I just cannot remember the name. You may be able to find it yourself. It doesn't cure the infection, but really helps with the symptoms. You will definitely need an antibiotic (probably Cipro), so make sure to see your doctor! Good luck and feel better!

That sounds like a UTI to me. Drink pure Cranberry juice (the real stuff, unsweetened). You can dilute it with water. It flushes the bacteria out. I have had so many of them and they suck. Many I have been able to beat by just constantly drinking fluids and then going to the bathroom. Still go to the doctor though. Definetly something you can't leave untreated.

Uricalm. You can get it at Walgreens or CVS. It eases the pain but makes your pee orange.

I could have just read "when my bladder completely empties I feel a sharp shooting pain. Ouch! Oh, and I feel the urge to pee every 30 minutes" and told you what it was. I got one for the first time back in my early 20s. If you let it get bad enough your urine will also emit a foul odor...nice, huh?
