Adding a little ethnic diversity to our Christmas...

One year John and I were shopping for Christmas decorations, and we stumbled upon some awesome decorations - a black Santa and a black angel. Of course we purchased them, and proudly displayed them on our front porch. One year my MIL commented that "Santa has a tan." I had to correct her, "No, he is black."

We are adding some ethnic diversity to our boring, lower middle class, predominantly white neighborhood.

Cute!

The other day we saw a black santa decoration and the friend we were with was shocked, had never seen one before. I was shocked she hadn't lol. I don't have one, but I do have a black nativity scene. 2 actually... One I got in Africa (made of ebony & very nice... separate pieces and everything), the other is a dollar store one that's just cute. Right now the nice one isn't out because I dont want it broken (and not much space here either), but I have the other out along with my Native American one (they're in a teepee) and a white one. They're pretty sturdy and small enough to put up out of reach anyway. Oddly enough we don't have one that has how they'd really look lol.

I love them! Have never seen any of them over here though ~ although I am sure they must have them!!
Hope all is well with you ~ your kids look like they have grown so much, but are still as adorable as ever. xxx

We have a black Santa and Mrs. Claus, actually. And they're from Sweden of all things.
