Chaos

I live in a world of chaos. I seem to always forget vitally important items at home. My diaper bag is disgusting. My van is covered in half eaten crackers and dirty clothes. My appearance is often disheveled. And I am scatterbrained.

I have two small children, but all of my friends have one child. This often leaves me feeling like a complete spaz. I seem to be the only person who doesn't have their shit together. This makes me want to stay home with my rambunctious toddlers. Ugh. I hate feeling inadequate.

Yet at the same time, I feel like I can handle way more than my friends with one child. Have they ever had to console two screaming babies at the same time? Have they ever attempted to get two babies dressed and out of the house in a timely manner? Have they ever had to keep a running tally of two children's fears and phobias? Have they tried to maintain two completely different nap schedules for their children, while still making time for play dates, shopping trips, and visits to the park? I think not.

Yes, I may be disheveled and slightly confused, but rest assure that I am AWESOME.

You ARE awesome! Way to go :) Seriously, being a mom is tough, exponentially so when you have multiple kids, even more so when they are close in age and young!

It's official: you win!

Amen! My friend who has one kid, you would think it was the end of the world if that baby cries...she doesn't ever let her cry (seriously). I just laugh as LM is screaming his head off and tell her he is just trying to talk to me.

Yes you are. And you are a perfect example of why I think twin moms should get over themselves sometimes. Yes - twins are hard - but sometimes two small children that are not the exact same age are JUST as hard.

Of course when I only had one baby - I thought it was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life - so I try to be understanding when people who only have one complain. And I assume that John and Kate Plus Eight look at my three babies in 18 months and roll their eyes.

Yup you are! I don't know how you do it... I have one and am run ragged and everything. I can't imagine two, but I sure am looking forward to it lol. I hope I can do as well as you.

I get the whole friends thing too btw. Most of mine don't have any kids yet... Slowly that's changing lol, but still.

My mom told me I never had to take advice or criticism from someone with less kids than me ;-)

You are awesome indeed, sweets. Clean cars are not what make good mothers!

isn't the difference between having one and two staggering?!?! when i think back to the time that we only had one kid, it seems to easy and simple! like even though it was scarce i still had a little bit of free time and sanity back then.

i have to keep reminding myself that as they get older they will be less dependent on me....in which i am sure i will be devastated over it!

i try hard to never tell my friends who are expecting #2 how much more life altering it is that #1.

you are awesome! being a SAHM is the hardest job i have ever had!

Well now I know what I have in store for me... I am totally scatterbrained and lost with only one... can you imagine working 40 hours per week and having 2? I will be a total nut job... I'm hoping Greg gives me the OK to quit before this one gets here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
