Fucking darn houses!

I have been fretting, worrying, and making myself sick over the housing market. A few months ago, the house on the corner sold for $5,000 more than we paid for our house. I breathed a sigh of relief. Then the house right next to our house went up for sale last week. I was particularly interested in this house, because it is the same exact model as our house. It sold within days for the same amount that we paid 3 years ago. Believe it or not, this made me giddy. We haven't lost anything! We haven't gained anything either, but it makes me sleep better knowing that our house hasn't lost value.

Speaking of houses, Izzy has turned into quite the little handy-man lately. I was laying on the couch, being a big lazy asshole, when I noticed that Izzy wasn't in the living room. I called for him, but he didn't come. It was unusually quiet, so I got up to check on him. I found him in Porgie's room, "fixing" the crib...
And this last story takes the cake. We had an old shed in our backyard that needed to be torn down. John decided to start dismanteling it this morning. Porgie was watching from the kitchen window. We had the following conversation...

Porgie: "OH NO! Daddy broke the fucking house!"
Me: "Porgie that isn't very nice. Fuck is a bad word. Use a nice word, like darn."
Porgie: "Daddy broke the fucking darn house!"

Crazy kid. I am pretty sure that she is going to be kicked out of preschool because of her foul language.

Oh that is too funny! Porgie's comments, I mean. hehehe. Can't wait to meet you all soon.

That's awesome about the sales in your neighborhood! Hurrah!

We just had our house appraised on Friday and I'm on pins and needles. (Refinancing, not selling.)

That's great news about the housing market in your area, I recall you posting about how worried you were about it.

I can't even imagine that little cutie saying that! Get video! lol. :)

OMG! Seriously can you please get this on tape!

Our townhouse is the same way. It is selling for what we bought 5 years ago. The thing that sucks donkey balls though is paying a realtor to sell! I have just come to the conclusion I am stuck here.

BTW- you are still cool in my book :-) It was the hubs "dream" car three years ago. Against my will I said ok so I have always had a grudge against it. It is no longer his "dream" car, that lasted about 3 months.

That's too funny! :)

Being even is probably pretty good right now. I know the builder for our house in SC is selling the same model (new & with upgrades) for nearly $30k less than we paid for it.

i love the last story about the barn, hilarious!!!! good news about the house, but what we just figured out is you have to pay realtors too, such a rip off!! they get quite a bit of the $$ too!!

I swear, between Porgie and my Brea we wouldn't be allowed in any public place, lol.

Kids.. gotta love them!

Both our girls will learn what the difference is between good words and bad ones.. at least I hope so! :o)

LOL. At least she uses it in the right context. :)

Bayley is going to have a mouth on her, too. Her daddy cusses like two sailors and Bayley is VERY vocal, so it's not going to be pleasant... I dread when she starts talking for real and we go out in public...because she'll scream it when with me, not daddy. lol.

That is great that the houses are selling so quickly in your area - still not so much here. The same mosel as ours is for sale down the street and I am anxious to see how much it ends up going for.

Porgie cracks me up!

Maybe Porgie and my kids can go to remedial language preschool together.
