Porgie apparently has Roseola. She is still refusing food, but her fussiness has significantly decreased. Instead of crying for 7 hours a day, she only cries for 5 hours a day. Lucky me! The scariest part of Porgie's recent illnesses, is the weight loss. Her ribs are protruding, and her size 4 diapers are too big. See that chubby little girl on the side bar? Those fat rolls are a distant memory. Makes me want to cry.
Unfortunately, Izzy is now sick too. He has a stuffy nose and a very sad little cough. It is very hard for him to breastfeed, because he he can't breathe out of his little nose. He has also been crying excessively too, but not nearly as much as Porgie.
I think John is depressed. He has been working long hours for months, and its beginning to take its toll on him. He is grumpy and irritable most of the time. This is typical behavior for me, but very strange for John. He is usually a very happy person. I don't know how to help him.
Porgie, Izzy, and I were invited to a playdate today. I was really looking forward to getting out of the house, and letting Porgie play with other children. Of course, I had to cancel because of my very ill children.
Life kind of sucks ass right now.

Oh hon, I am SO SORRY! You poor thing! This time of year is the worst for illnesses. Someone has been sick in our house for the entire last month (nothing compared to what you're dealing with though). Sorry to hear about John. The gloomy overcast days don't help either with mood, you know? Maybe some light therapy could help him. I have no clue where you do that but I do know that I used to occasionally go to a tanning booth for a quick pick-me-up. Just don't over do it 'cause you don't want skin cancer!
For Izzy's stuffy nose, have you tried Little Noses' saline drops? You just squirt some of that stuff in their nose and let it drain - you don't have to even use a nose bulb, just let it come out on it's own. Of course they hate it but it will make them feel better in the long run. You could even make your own drops, I'm sure if you google it you'll find a recipe. I've never made it, just easier to buy the stuff at Target.
I really hope things improve soon for you. You've had more than your fair share of shit dumped on you lately!
Suckus muchus. Will improve.
Ah..Christy I wish there was something I could do to help.
It will get better. Do you guys have any familial support where you live?
My thoughts are with you and your family.
I'm so sorry Christy but a new year is ahead! Maybe you and John need to take an evening to yourselves if that is feasible.
Max had Roseolla too. It is stinky when babies are ill and daddys need alone time and moms are left to deal. he must be so stressed out. But there is you-and you must be having a rough time too.
I used to hang Max over a humidifier or sit in the bathroom with him or I would let him sleep in his swing and parked myself on the couch next to him.
The early days are really tough. HUGS!
I understand completely! Claire was so miserable when she had Roseola last month. I can't imagine having a sick newborn on top of that. I hope they get better soon.
You can also try squirting breastmilk into his nose. :)
I so get those wanting-to-run-away days! They do get better, though.
Oh, and you can buy full-spectrum lightbulbs and/or lamps to help with SAD-type stuff.
{{{HUGS}}}
I'm so sorry. Life does sound a little dismal but I guess that it has to get better from here. Right? Tyler has a cold right now too and so do my husband and I. I've actually had this same fu*king cold for like a month. It's all going around... arrrr. We're here to keep you sane and tell you that it will eventually be better. Muahhh!
this was me two weeks ago...just eat more chocolate
I'm so sorry things don't seem to be going well, I hope and pray that within time all will get better!
