Important dates

Our pediatrician's office is located inside of a large professional building. While walking down the hall toward the office on Tuesday morning, I noticed a large sign posted on a window. It said, "The AAP recommends that all children be seen by a dentist at one year of age." Hmmmm...Porgie is two and I haven't even considered taking her to the dentist yet.

Since I was running a few minutes early, I decided to stop in and schedule an appointment. I walked into a waiting room stuffed full of toys. Children were running around, happily playing and laughing. I felt at ease. Porgie felt at ease. She instantly asked to get down and play. I walked up to the front counter to make an appointment. The receptionist was very friendly. I told her that I would like an afternoon appointment for next week. She happily obliged, and offered a 3:30 appointment on October 15th. That date sounded very familiar. I was certain that I had something important to do on that day. But for the life of me, I couldn't remember what I had to do on that day, so I went ahead and scheduled the appointment for the 15th.

Later that night, I was blogging. Suddenly I realized why the 15th was so important. Amalah is scheduled for her repeat c-section on that day! Apparently, I am now keeping a running tab on all important dates in my bloggy friends' lives. So, if you have a wedding anniversary, birthday, or due date looming, I won't be scheduling any appointment on that day:)

I hate it when that happens! You know that there is something important that you have planned, but just can't remember what!! I do that all to often these days!

We brought our son at our latest check up to let him see the process and the dentist said at age 3 or 4 they could come for a real visit. I don't think there's a true consensus on the issue. Whenever you feel like it, I say!

How funny! I knew when the King Quads delivery date was approaching, 9-9-09. I think their b-day will forever be in my brain.

And I called my dentist to make an appointment for BG, she is 2.5 and they wouldn't give me one. They said they won't see kids until they are at least 3 years of age :-(

Oh thank God I'm not the only one whose 2 yr old hasn't yet seen the dentist.

My mom was beginning to make me feel like I should turn myself into child services.

This cracked me up. My husband laughs at me when I say a friend has something going on and it's an 'interfriend.' Good luck at the dentist, my kids love it, they let them play with the little buzzy cleaner thing.

I hate is when I cannot remember why I should remember a date. I used to be really good with names. I was in sales and so it was important and then I got pregnant and it all went away and now I cannot remember anything.

Claire just went to the dentist for the third time. She actually really likes going, which makes us the only two people in the world that like going to the dentist.

I hope the trip to the dentist goes well! I so do that with dates, but then I can't remember and end up scheduling two things at once anyways!!
