I hate Lowes

Remember when we replaced all of the shrubbery in front of our house? We purchased the plants from a local nursery. Because it was the end of the season, everything was 50% off. We got some fabulous deals, but we also had a limited selection of plants to choose from.

We ended up buying everything at the nursery except for the Emerald Green Arborvitaes. In case you are wondering, these are the Arborvitaes I am referring too...I would have purchased these trees at the nursery, but they did not have the size we were looking for. All of their arborvitaes were at least 5 feet tall. So, I declared that we should buy small arborvitaes at Lowes. And we did. And now I regret that decision.

Here is a photo of our Junpier...

Looks healthy - right?

Here are some photos of our arborvitaes...Not so healthy. Damn stupid Lowes.

do you have any animals that pee in your yard?
asking b/c a couple of our little shrub/bushes have browned at the bottom like that. come to find out: they are the closest to the back door where our dog, Eddie, makes his first pit stop for relief. The others are doing well, but you can see brown spots where he's been lifting his leg.

........and doesn't Lowe's have that return policy/exchange policy where you can take them back?

lol dont blame lowes we also have arbors all along our back yard to shield us from our neighbors, and for 3 years in a row some of them died. luckily the nursery did replace the ones that die we have about 20 and each year it got a little better. i hear that too much watering kills them too

I'd ask for a refund ~ do they have a guarantee? our garden centre offers a replacement on shrubs and trees for 3 years.
If they don't, don't go back!!! haha :D
It's so annoying.

We used to do the same thing with hanging flower baskets. This year we were given a $60 hanging basket from a greenhouse. The difference is AMAZING!!!!! It has lasted all summer and is still producing blooms.

No more buying from Menards, Walmart, or Home Depot!!

I think the guarantee on plants from Lowe's is 6 months. We've returned them when they died in an unreasonable amount of time.

That is disappointing. I would show Lowe's a picture and see if they will replace them or what they suggest.

My husband is a landscaper and he's not here to offer suggestions, but he's taught me a few things.
1. Is it the right lighting? They prefer cooler weather to hot, and if you're in a hot climate then they need shade instead of sun.
2. Are you overwatering/underwatering? They like a moist soil with a neutral or alkaline pH level in your soil.
3. Are dogs peeing on them? That can kill even the prettiest of plants.
4. Lowe's offers a 1 year warranty on all plants with a receipt. Keep your receipt and exchange it. If you don't have the receipt, go buy another one and keep that receipt for a few days then go back and get your money back when you take the first one back. hehe.

I know it all sounds complicated, but it's not too bad once you get the hang of it. Good luck!!

feed it some miracle grow asap!!! it will work!

my trees do that as well. Go to lowes and ask them for suggestions. Sometimes it is just water or a treatment of some type.
