Hello Friends

I was hesitant to publish my last post, because I was fearful that a few heated arguments would ensue. But, I was delightfully surprised. Everyone stated their opinions in a very polite and competent manner. I was only annoyed by one commenter - Spencer The Happy Moron, um...I mean Mormon. "GO MCCAIN" isn't a very convincing argument my dear Spencer.

I have discovered that politics are CONSUMING my very thought. John and I had an argument about 3rd party candidates on the way to the grocery store yesterday. Personally, I think voting for someone like Nader, is wasting your vote. Did we learn nothing from the 2000 election? John, on the other hand, doesn't agree with me. So frustrating. But I am happy to report that after some negotiating, I managed to get John to pinky swear that he would vote for Obama.

In other news, Porgie is still puking. She vomited in the middle of a restaurant on Sunday evening. Kind of embarrassing. But I did an excellent job of staying calm and even tempered. I just undressed her, John boxed up the food, and we left. I was hoping that she would learn a valuable lesson about puking in public places. I thought the consequence of having to leave would upset her, but she didn't really seem to care. Damn toddler. On a positive note, my little Izzy Whizzy Woo was an angel.

Well, I hope you are having a terrific Labor Day!

I love the good 'ol "pinky swear." And thanks for publishing that first post about McCain. I read the blog you linked to and it was quite interesting. I definitely agree that picking someone for the sake of her being a woman is a BAD idea.

i am always a little leery of posting anything political, too, christy... it is my hope that mccain didn't just choose palin because she is a woman.
the reason i wrote my first post is because (like i said in the body) i was shocked. i, like everyone else, am learning about this woman along the way and become more and more shocked as her skeletons continue to literally fall from her closet one-by-one. i cannot figure out mccain's logic??????
on another note, i'm sorry miss porgie continues to puke!!! i hope this phase passes soon...
love,
dani

even up here in Canada, i'm a little shocked and agog at the Palin choice...and saddened, policy-wise, as the whole abstinence-only sex education position has always seemed so head-in-the-sand to me, and she seems to be the poster child for this willful blindness in the face of evidence.

I remember that phase and it's really frustrating. But it does pass. Not that this helps when you are trying to wipe vomit off of a restaurant chair - but it will eventually end!

Obama scares me. McCain makes me angry. I just can't believe that these two morons are the BEST we have to offer! I hang my head in shame.

Do you really think people care about sex and gender that much any more? That's such antiquated thinking. I'm all about the issues baby. Hence my believe that, either way, we're screwed.

Haha! I totally made my husband promise to vote for Obama too. But he said there was no need as hello (!?) nobody here in liberal Portland is voting for McCain... except my inlaws.. (of course)

I have to say I don't know who to vote for, but I am going to vote. I am not excited about either of them....anyway - Try and give Porgie some positive reinforcement when she doesn't puke, hopefully she will quit this sooner than later, I would just die. I hate cleaning up puke! Good luck with that! :)
