Say cheese!

I wussed out and swaddled Izzy this weekend. Have I mentioned that I am a creature of habit? Izzy would probably be fine without the swaddle, but I am afraid to change our routine. So, we are going to continue swaddling for now. Friday's post is bound to pop up again in the future. Sorry in advance.

We FINALLY took Izzy to have his pictures taken this weekend. It was a pretty horrific experience. Our appointment was scheduled for 3:30, and we arrived at promptly 3:30. A woman was in the middle of her photo shoot, and another group was waiting to go next. What the hell is the point of appointments if you have to wait for an hour anyways?

We waited and waited and waited. After about 40 minutes, the group ahead of us was called back. They had a little girl, maybe 3 or 4 years old, who was suppose to appear in the pictures. But, she had other ideas. She pitched a fit of epic proportions. She SCREAMED and SCREAMED. Her mother tried to bribe her with McDonald's, but the little girl just started SCREAMING for a hamburger. The two woman started getting very angry with the child. They were screaming at her, and she was screaming for a hamburger, and I just wanted to slap all three of them. After enduring 10 minutes of nonstop screaming they left, dragging the tantruming preschooler out the door.

We were finally called back. We discovered that our favorite photographer no longer worked there, and instead we were stuck with some random dude. Izzy was adorable and smiley, but the photographer was incompetent. I really wanted a tummy time shot, but I never got one. I really wanted a picture of Porgie and Izzy in their diapers but I never got one. We left the studio disappointed. Of course, I still purchased $100 worth of photos, because my children are freaking adorable.

I should probably mention that I am photo junkie. I had Porgie's pictures taken at 3, 6, 9, 12, and 18 months. And I plan on doing the same for little Izzy. What about your kids? How often did you have their pictures taken?

I had Ainsley's done at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. We had Christmas pictures done when she was 20 months and then I am getting ready to do her 24 month pictures in 2 weeks. :-)

I have a friend that took her boys every month for their first year. I think she is insane.

We did it at 12 months. We'll probably do it again at 2. But we've gotten some great candids!

First off-we have over 1000 taken by ourselves. My hubby is the true junky but I stay along for the ride.

We took pics at 3 months but I wish I would have done them real early. Next kid I will.

I am so happy you went but sad you felt upset about the photographer.

I was great with William, I've been horrible with Rawni. She's only had shots done when we went for Xmas pics and then.... NEVER EVER.

I am the most horrible mom when it comes to professional photos.

Let's see....he's had his picture taken by a professional twice: once for Halloween, and once last Christmas in a family photo.

But, on the other hand---I take pics of him almost every single day. yes, it's a sickness. I photograph him almost every single day.

i am apparently a bit of a slacker in the professional photography category. i did it twice, but stupidly, both within the same month (one b&w art photographer, one Walmart session).

but we have 3000+ shots on the computer...

:)

Well, you've seen about how often I take pics myself lol.. but having them done... we had a santa pic at 3mo's & I tried to imitate nice ones as best I could for her Baptism pics that same month... but so far none professional... I'm hoping for this month though. 6 mo's is a cute age for that I think..

I am an amateur photographer, so my kids get assaulted by the camera every, single, day. :) I stopped paying for school pictures because I realized I liked mine more, heh. Vain? Mayhaps, but I can't stand fake forests anymore. ;) I have millions of photos of my kids. Someday they'll hate me for it. HA!

I prefer candid pictures, so I haven't been religious about getting the professional shots made...and I use the word "professional" very lightly since when we do get those type of pictures taken it's always at JC Penney or The Picture People. I think we had Lila's made when she was four or five months old, again for Halloween when she was seven months, around Valentine's Day when she was about 11 months, and then when she was 18 months...very random.

My niece has only had one professional photo shoot and she is over two years! I just announced some big news on my blog yesterday!

um...never. i'm a bad mom. i did a portrait of my oldest when he was 3 months old. never again since then. but i would be the mom who'd want the portrait of the child WHILE he/she is throwing the fit. that would be a picture worth having at his/her high school graduation.

I did like Sara. Picture People keeps sending me free coupons, what am I supposed to do? But since Miss E hit a year, I've tapered off because she hates the photo place. I only go if Dh can come with.

Oh, and I swaddled Miss E until she was 8 months old. So I wouldn't sweat it that Izzy still loves being swaddled.

For K I did 3 weeks, 3 month, 6 month, 9, 12 professionally then just Easter and B-day...Now I am taking all my own because unless I go professional which I cannot afford...the photographers are not skilled and I end up doing all the posing!

I was really good at taking the kids pictures on my first two but my 3rd and 4th kids pictures are really random.

My DH thinks I turn into a monster when ever I mention professional pictures. I get so stressed about everybody looking just right, that is why our family picture is three years old.
