We have decided to replace all of the shrubbery in the front of our house. The bushes were overgrown, ugly, and were spaced haphazardly. Despite having a new roof and a new entry door, the front of our house still looked disheveled and unkempt.
Here is some photographic evidence...
So, we took the plunge yesterday, and paid a landscaper to rip out all of the old shrubbery. Here is some more photographic evidence...
I realize that the after pictures look much worse than the before pictures, but we have big plans. We are going to paint the foundation, plant new shrubbery, trim the flower beds with stone pavers, and put down fresh mulch. It will look beautiful when we are finished. However, our house is an eyesore at the moment.

Gets worse before it gets better! Let me know what you are planning on putting in!
It will definitely look worse before it gets better. And landscaping is expensive, but well worth it in the end! Can't wait to see the end result!
I think that it looks alot better without the shrubs etc ~ I can't wait to see the end result ~ I am sure it will be just perfect in the end.
love and hugs XXXX
Since I still have Monty Python on the brain, all I can think of is the Knights who say Ni and Roger the Shrubber. :)
But keep up posted!
Can't wait to see what it looks like when you are finished!
It will get worse before it gets better! It's looking just fine Christy, but can't wait to see the finished result.
Don't work too hard!!

That is so fun! Remodeling things to how you want them is the best feeling. You are going to love it. I can't wait to see pictures of the new plants!!!
So impressed and looking forward to pics. DH and I have so many plans for landscaping, just no enery to do it (or money). :)
I can't wait to see the outcome and am SOO very jealous you are doing all these home projects!!!
Can't wait to see those pics... and I don't think it looks worse, I think it looks like it's in progress.

bc i do :)
and i agree, it doesn't look worse, it just looks in progress!
I liked your little stone bench!! That was cute! I hope you didn't throw it out : (
I am absolutely DYING to do some home makeover stuff- but we are poor so we have to do all the work ourselves- and getting all dirty and wielding garden equipment is rarely my cup of tea.
I'm sure it will be beautiful, can't wait to see the finished product! :)
Ooooh! Can't wait to see the pics of the finished product!
Cool...I can't wait to see the after pics!!!
Certain it will be lurvely. Can't wait for the afters.
Tip for the future:
We recently did some landscapping renovations of our own and we were told that if you list your bushes and pictures of them on Craigs list in the "free" section people will take them out for you.
So we did. We took pictures of the bushes. We listed (for free) our bushes in the "free" section. And told people that they could have the bushes for free if they brought a shovel and dug them out themselves. Within 2 hours I had no less than 30 phone calls. Every single bush was gone. We had 7 bushes total. And 3 different people came and dug out a few each.
Gotta love that Craigs list.
I know it's a bit late for you but a good FYI for future projects.
i love remodling, especially changing things on the outside... I bet it will look awesome!
I am sure it will look wonderful. I hope plans at casa cakerwakers give momma some time to relax.
work in prgress!!! GL and I can't wait to see the after pics.
eekk it's so bare. Cover it up! ;-) I hope the stone bench makes it back in when you're done. I like that kind of feature. :)

It's going to look great when it's all done-fresh and new.
Oy - we're right there with ya. Only hubs ripped out all our shrubbery last summer and we still have nothing but weeds out front! Once the new windows go in on the front porch we'll get some shrubs planted - I just hope its before winter!!!
I can't wait to see it when its done
