Guppy is suddenly a very active, very social little guy. It is like a switch flipped in his little brain, and now he is so full of spunk. He is all smiles and chatter and physical activity. Very cute.
__________
The weather has been so unbelievably nice this week. It was 80 degrees today. Lovely.
__________
I have finally started crocheting Guppy a baby blanket. I am loving the colors I selected and can't wait to see the finished product. Don't worry, I'll post a picture for your viewing pleasure.
__________
I haven't been baking much lately, which is probably a good thing. I need to shed some of this excess weight. I have been feeling fat and frumpy lately.
__________
We have been walking to the park every evening with the kids. I am counting this as exercise. Look, I am halfway to skinny already!
__________
I am getting my haircut this weekend. My hair is long (I haven't cut it since Guppy was born) and my wee little babe loves to pull on it, so I keep it up in a ponytail 90% of the time. I think that is adding to my frumpy feeling.
__________
I went to Old Navy today and bought a few things. It was one of those trips, where I couldn't find anything I loved, but I still managed to spend like $80. But I need clothes to wear in this warmer weather, so I guess I am just going to wear a bunch of crap I don't really like.
__________
I need to do some major spring cleaning around here. I feel like my house is so cluttered with junk - especially my bedroom. I love throwing crap in there and closing the door. I still have a bag of brand new newborn clothes sitting in one corner. That means I haven't touched that area in SEVEN MONTHS!
__________
Have I ever told you that I am a cereal junkie? I LOVE cereal. I really shouldn't even keep it in the house, because I munch on it all damn day. I am currently obsessed with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I need to wean myself off the constant stream of sugar.
__________
I also need to wean myself off Coca Cola again. In the middle of a particularly bad week, I caved and bought a 12 pack. That was in January. I have been slurping down at least 2 cans per day ever since. Ugh. I drank my last Coke about an hour ago. This is not going to be fun.
__________
I am not giving up my Ben & Jerry's though.

Bitch and moan
Money. Gah. I have been feeling super stressed about money lately.
We have crappy insurance, which doesn't pay anything toward sick visits until we pay our entire deductible (which is $6000). Guppy was sick for the entire month of February, which entailed multiple visits to the doctor, a chest x-ray, a nebulizer, and various medications. The bills have started to roll in, and we owe roughly $1000. ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a cold virus. It makes me sick.
My husband fell and injured his wrist about two weeks ago. We thought he had just hurt it, but two days after the incident his fingers felt numb. Fearing that he might have broken something, he ended up going to an Urgent Care center after work to have it checked out. Turns out that nothing was broke, and he is feeling a lot better now. The bill hasn't arrived yet, but I am certain that little visit will cost us a pretty penny.
As if that wasn't enough, my husband also paid two bills late last month, which resulted in two $25 late fees. I was IRATE. We had the money to pay the bills, but John was just "too busy" to get around to it in a timely manner. His laziness cost us $50! AND THEN he got a speeding ticket yesterday for another $100. What the fuck is up with my husband. Is he trying to piss me off?
I haven't been in a very good mood lately and all these money woes are not helping to improve my mood.

I got nothing
My wee little babe is doing much better. THANK THE LORD! He can breathe without making tons of noise! It is amazing!
Sorry for the lack of updates, but I really have nothing to say. We stayed home all week. I baked some cookies. We made leprechaun puppets. That about sums up the entire week.
You were probably hoping for something a little more exciting - right? Maybe next week I'll do something really interesting, like mop the floor or clean the toilet. I'll totally keep you updated.

Better?
Porgie, Izzy, Guppy and I haven't left the house all weekend. We are not going to get sick again! My baby boy has to get better. Therefore John was the official errand boy. It was kind of nice staying in my jammies for the entire weekend.
Guppy seems to be breathing a little easier - especially after his medicine and a breathing treatment. He is definitely still sick and he is definitely still wheezing (sometimes), but I think he is getting better. The downfall is that his medicine has been giving him insomnia. My baby boy has been waking for a few hours every night since we started the Prednisolone last Thursday. It will be 2am, and he will be wide awake and ready to play. But I don't want to play at 2am, which results in lots of crying. He has been napping better during the day, which is good because he has been in the worst mood lately. I guess it is the medicine or maybe it is the lack of sleep? All I know is that he hasn't been himself. Today is the last day of the oral meds, and I couldn't be happier! Fussy babies, no sleep, and never leaving the house is a recipe for disaster.
This week is going to be more of the same - sitting around the house, yawning, and listening to Guppy fuss. Yes, my life is super interesting.

Update on the sick babe
Yesterday Guppy woke up with a fever of 102, and he was vomiting. I called the pediatrician, who wanted to see him right away. When we got there, the doctor listened to his breathing and declared that he sounded "awful." He asked when I had last used the Albuterol. I felt like a total ass when I admitted that I stopped the treatments on Sunday. The doctor thought that Guppy had pneumonia, so he sent us off for a chest x-ray. Fortunately, it turns out that Guppy does not have pneumonia (thank God). After getting the results, the doctor changed Guppy's prescription for Albuterol to Xopenex and he also prescribed him Prednisone.
I am hopeful that this new regimen will be effective, but my baby boy has been sick for so long that I feel very skeptical about any of this actually working.
