John and I have decided to put up our Christmas tree this year (we're actually putting it up this weekend - YIKES!). I will probably regret this decision in a few weeks. However, I think Porgie will be fascinated by the tree and by ripping the wrapping paper off of her gifts. Christmas should be loads of fun this year, and I am looking forward to the festive holiday season.
I have already purchased a few gifts for Porgie. First, I bought her a Little People's Farm. She loves making animals sounds, and is genuinely fascinated with all barnyard animals. I expect that this gift will be a smash hit.Next, I bought her a little laptop computer. I was originally planning on buying her a fancier "computer", but she fell in love with this one while we were shopping at target one morning.
Finally, I bought her some puzzles - barnyard themed of course.
I plan on buying my baby girl a few more things. When Christmas finally rolls around, Porgie will be 18 months old. Do you have any suggestions for great, but reasonably price Christmas gift?
The boys started really getting into their little ride-on car at that age. If you're looking at buys one, make sure that it steers :-)
ReplyDeleteMy son loves his leapfrog fridge phonics. We dole out the letters to him one at a time though so they don't get scattered around the house and lost. It's fun and educational for him! He also really likes the busy ball popper from Playskool. I do have to warn you though - it is noisy.
ReplyDeleteQuieter things he enjoys: books, ride on toys (that don't have noise), balls, blowing bubbles and destroying the house.
The nice thing about getting toys for the older one is that the younger one can use them too.
That farm will be a hit. Baby Nora can play with that thing for forever at a time!
ReplyDeleteBaby Nora likes balls and cars and her dollhouse right now, too, so maybe something like that. Or something she can use to imitate you, like some chore you do that she likes to "help with."
I cant wait for xmas to put the tree up! I have no chnace of anytime soon! I am jealous!
ReplyDeleteI have already given the farm, he has a little wooden trike with traier
AAHHH!! The fridge leapfrog!! :::sing-songy:::
ReplyDeleteEvery letter makes a sound....
Obviously, we have that & the kids love it.
We are thinking about ride-ons & balls.
great gifts. Oscar's grandparents bought him the farm last year and he's just really getting around to the point where he loves it and plays with it all the time. i personally am in love with the sheep.
ReplyDeleteI love what you got her. Max is only 11 months old so I have very little suggestions in this department.
ReplyDeleteYes, the hooked on phonics fridge set is awesome. Also, the similar set with barn animals is fun, too (the matching colors/animals).
ReplyDeleteDoes Porgie have a doll stroller? If not, she MUST have one. It is a hit with girls AND boys alike.
A Christmas tree tip - I purposely put "kid safe" ornaments at the bottom of the tree. My kid was allowed to pull them off all her wanted and eventually, he grew bored with it. That saved our tree, most likely. ;-)
Claire has that LP farm and loves it! The LP are great!
ReplyDeleteDoes Porgie have a shopping cart or a baby doll stroller? Those are always great. Claire loves to push her shopping cart around and "collect" things from all around the house. We got a red (of course) cart at Target. Now she can shop like momma!
ellie loves those wooden puzzles. and right now her most fave toy of all time is a cheap little shopping cart. she loves to put on a purse and walk around with it! she says, hi mommy, like she's at the store!
ReplyDeleteshe also likes connectable blocks and puzzles.
i forgot about the buys ball bopper. that was a big big hit until we lost the balls.
ReplyDeleteWe have that same computer and Ella LOVES it!!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting her a little kitchen....they have one that the height adjusts as they grow.
We put up our tree today and Ella has already pulled off the garlend once. I did buy some plastic ornamanets to hang on the bottom of the tree. Hopefully we won't be dealing with too many broken ones...
