More home improvement pictures (kind of)

We have decided to replace all of the shrubbery in the front of our house. The bushes were overgrown, ugly, and were spaced haphazardly. Despite having a new roof and a new entry door, the front of our house still looked disheveled and unkempt.

Here is some photographic evidence...

So, we took the plunge yesterday, and paid a landscaper to rip out all of the old shrubbery. Here is some more photographic evidence...
I realize that the after pictures look much worse than the before pictures, but we have big plans. We are going to paint the foundation, plant new shrubbery, trim the flower beds with stone pavers, and put down fresh mulch. It will look beautiful when we are finished. However, our house is an eyesore at the moment.

  2. It will definitely look worse before it gets better. And landscaping is expensive, but well worth it in the end! Can't wait to see the end result!

  12. I liked your little stone bench!! That was cute! I hope you didn't throw it out : (

I am absolutely DYING to do some home makeover stuff- but we are poor so we have to do all the work ourselves- and getting all dirty and wielding garden equipment is rarely my cup of tea.

  17. Tip for the future:

We recently did some landscapping renovations of our own and we were told that if you list your bushes and pictures of them on Craigs list in the "free" section people will take them out for you.

So we did. We took pictures of the bushes. We listed (for free) our bushes in the "free" section. And told people that they could have the bushes for free if they brought a shovel and dug them out themselves. Within 2 hours I had no less than 30 phone calls. Every single bush was gone. We had 7 bushes total. And 3 different people came and dug out a few each.

    Gotta love that Craigs list.

I know it's a bit late for you but a good FYI for future projects.
