Every time Izzy receives a gift, one of these goofy blankets are in the box. Porgie never received any of these things. Is this a really great gift for little boys? I am confused. Izzy doesn't have the slightest interest in playing with these things. And they are too little to actually be used as a blanket. Could you please shed some light on this strange gift idea? I am perplexed.
LOL! My daughter is 5 and still has a collection of these blankies...there suppose to be like little woobies. My daughter would hold the blankie while sucking her thumb to put herself to sleep at night.
ReplyDeleteMy first DS has 3 or 4 of them but never took to them...he's a straight forward kind of kid he wants a blankie AND a stuffed animal/lovey NOT a combo.

Yeah, misguided mommy is right. They're lovies. People love to give a gift they think the child will make his or her lovie and treasure forever and ever. Except the thing is, you can't really force a lovie. Kids pick their own!
ReplyDeleteAlready answered before I even read the question lol. We put one on our registry (I think it was a giraffe head though) but never got it. She picked a couple stuffed animals that she's attached to but she doesn't sleep with them. She has such a hard time falling asleep that we're trying putting one w/ her but so far it hasn't seemed to take & I've wondered if one of those would have been better for her.Oh well lol.

I think these are supposed to be a comfort to baby. We got some as gifts for the boys when they were born, but they didn't like them so they went to the local charity shop. Some other baby has got them now!!!

ReplyDeleteWoobies. That's what we call them. Comfort blankies. Kids like soft things and some want a toy/blanket. My daughter loved hers. ;)

ReplyDeleteBoth of my boys are blankie kids, and they love to hold the blankets right up under their nose while they sleep. My oldest didn't care for them much but my little one loves his.
ReplyDeleteOK, finally catching up on some reading...and no, I have no idea what these freakin' things are. I do know that we have--or had--a bunch of them too. No idea where they went. None of us has missed one of them.
