Mmmmmm...Coke

How many times am I going to write this post? I am attempting to kick my caffeine habit AGAIN. I have been off of Coca Cola Classic for approximately 26 hours, and I am not sure I am going to make it. I am having the withdraw headache. The headache that feels like someone is pounding on my head with a hammer. The headache that makes me want to installed a soda fountain in my kitchen, so I never have to be without that sweet nectar ever again.

What is it about that fizzy drink? I just can't seem to stop drinking it. And there is absolutely no healthy reason to consume it. It is loaded with sugar and makes my teeth hurt. It contains high fructose corn syrup, which everyone knows is horrible. It is just a bunch of empty calories and is contributing to my fat ass.

I am thinking that if I can make it for three days without coke, I can kick the habit permanently. I know this is bullshit, because I stopped drinking pop during both of my pregnancies. But I am going to try. Again.

I just finished a nice, cold, refreshing BOTTLE of diet coke. No more cans for me :-)

Good luck buddy. :) I wish I could get off sugar in general.

You can do it! I know that personally, I could not give up something like, say coffee. Did you consider that you're having a caffeine withdrawal? Perhaps you can somehow replace it with something else in a small dose just to get you by.

I do always feel much better when I don't drink soda, it makes me feel bloated! Been trying the water thing (flavored to keep it interesting) and, well, I'd rather have cheese!

Hope you can hang in there and maybe just cut down on your intake rather than go cold turkey!? ;)

Good luck! I know its hard... I can't even completely go w/out caffein when I'm pregnant lol.

We're lucky here because we can get Mexican cokes... no corn syrup! Makes me feel a bit better about it... But we don't always keep them around and I still end up (at least) getting a dp when we go out.

ugh. I do the same thing. I think I can give it up, and then? Not so much. Good luck this time! You are a better person than me.

I gave up caffeine one year during Lent. Bad choice. Why? It's cokes AND chocolate! So the moral to this story is: instead of cokes, EAT CHOCOLATE!

I've had a sudden addiction to coke. I can't get enough of it. It just started about 2 weeks ago. I have no idea why. It's strange.

I've been working on kicking the Coke habit too. I was doing well for a couple of days and then I got stressed. So you know what happened then...
A friend actually suggested something that worked for the caffeine withdrawal headache: take Excedrin-it has caffeine in it.
