Habits

When I woke up this morning and Puppy wasn't prancing around the door to go outside, I was sad. When I absentmindedly threw some treats on the floor for Puppy, I was sad. When I went to get the mail and Puppy wasn't laying in front of the door, I was sad. When Izzy started dropping food from his highchair and Puppy wasn't there to gobble it up, I was sad. When I came home from the store this morning, the silence in the house was deafening. And I was sad. I miss my dog.

my heart aches for you. and i'm so so sorry. remember habits need to transition to form new habits. they don't go away as quickly as our loved ones do.

  11. Oh, honey, I know that feeling all too well.

I still haven't washed Eddie's food & water bowl, even though they have been empty for almost a month. Even now when I sweep & find his hair, I am sad.

When Gage randomly gets ice from the ice dispenser & throws it where Eddie used to lay, and it melts into little puddles on the floor b/c Eddie's not there to gobble it up...I'm sad.

I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you feel...

  19. Tears are poring from my eyes right now for you - This has really gotten to me b/c I feel the same way about my two labs and yorkie and dread the day that I have to put them down. I'm so very very sorry for your family.

  20. My precious baby has been gone for almost 16 months and there is still her hair all over the bottom of the shower curtain in our master bath where she used to lay up against it. I refuse to wash the curtain because it's the only physical part I have left of her.
    :(

    *HUGS* to you.
