Lunch

Izzy is finally mobile, but he is not crawling. Instead, he is scooting on his little butt. He zips from one side of the room to the other on his little tushy. As a result, my fussy little guy has turned into a happy little man.

This morning I had some laundry to put away, so I carried Izzy back to the master bedroom so I could fold clothes. He was scooting all over the place, examining the various trinkets he found along the way. He was absolutely fascinated by a pair of house-shoes he found in the closet.

After about 5 minutes, I noticed that Izzy had stopped scooting and was sitting near a post at the bottom of the bed. He was being unusually quiet, so I walked over to see what he was up to. He was happily chomping away on something. Knowing that he did not have food, I stuck my finger in his mouth to retrieve the object. And I pulled out a spider. AHHHHHHH! A freaking spider! AHHHHHHHHHHH! It looked just like this...

Okay, maybe I am exaggerating. But it was a spider. And it was in my baby's mouth. AHHHHHHH!

It was terrifying.

  7. The spider would freak me out too.. but I found Kalila eating a rolly polly last month (meant to put it on my blog & forgot lol). The little boy I sit for scoots on his butt too, but not that much. Is cute though! I can just see Izzy going all over the place that way.

  8. That would make me crazy. Of course - I've seen my kids eat unidentifiable objects they found outside (before I can pull the questionable item out of their mouth). How do they survive?

  12. I have killed about 4 spiders in the past 2 days. I hate bugs but especially spiders.

I am so happy Izzy is moving around. Yeah.

Damn spiders need to stay away from him and I guess he should try and not eat them too but I am sure at one time and in other countries-they eat spiders but still-ugh-hope your ok.

  14. That was great timing with the spider story! After cleaning Jack up from supper, he was also playing with something in his high chair. I was about to get him out when I saw what it was... a spider. He was just seconds from putting it in his mouth. Wonder how that would have tasted!

  19. Oh. My. God.

That is terrifying. I will now live in fear of my child eating a spider. I didn't even know that was something I should be afraid of. Now? It's topping the list.

Good lord, does it EVER STOP!?

  20. I admire you for actually being able to get it out of his mouth. As soon as I would have realized what I was touching, I would have freaked out so much that I would have shoved the spider back in and run shrieking out of the room.

  21. aawww you have a little butt-scooter ;-) Sophia is a butt-scooter too. Blah spiders! I would have FREAKED out! I don't touch spiders at all. If I see one I send my cat out to 'earn his keep'.
